When a user makes edits to a file those edits are stored on the users local computer in the local cache, once that user unlocks the file and chooses upload editing changes, those edits move from the local computer to the server. Since the edits are stored locally, the edits that are being made by the user who has the file locked and checked out for editing cannot be checked in by anyone else, including the workspace owner, unless the second user has access to the first user’s local machine.
